We’re a young company with decades of experience.

In early 2009, brothers Dan and Jeff Federman started working together on a freelance project. Dan designed, Jeff coded. The experience? Warm and fuzzy. Puffy Coat was born. Since then, Puffy Coat has gone on to design and develop websites and branding for a wide variety of industries, including e-commerce, non-profit, finance, film, biotech and personal products.

Dan is a Creative Director and Digital Strategist who has developed award- winning online campaigns for clients such as Coca-Cola, Paramount Pictures, Sony and Billboard.

In 2000, Dan co-founded Big Spaceship LLC to deliver best-of-breed interactive design and innovation to the entertainment and lifestyle product industries. Serving as its Creative Director until he left the firm in 2008, Dan and Big Spaceship developed a roster of innovative, immersive digital experiences, including games, banner campaigns, destination sites and online news magazines.

As former Art Director at industry trailblazer thoughtbubble productions, Dan pioneered the use of rich media in the development of first-generation broadband web properties.

Dan has served as a juror for the prestigious One Show Interactive Awards, lectured at the San Diego aiga and Seybold Seminars in New York, and repeatedly led a two-day seminar for the Internationale Filmschule Köln in Cologne, Germany and Rome, Italy.

Jeff graduated from NYU School of Law in 2001 and went on to work as an associate at Hughes, Hubbard & Reed LLP, a nationally respected New York law firm, where he became a specialist in the emerging field of electronic discovery, and gained extensive experience administering document review web applications.

Since leaving Hughes Hubbard in 2008, Jeff has focused on web applications programming, primarily in Ruby and JavaScript. Jeff’s ability to understand and communicate business, legal and technological issues helps Puffy Coat manage the complexities of software development, government and industry regulations, and privacy concerns that go into creating web applications.
